How to fold a fitted bed sheet?

 

  1. Hold the Corners – Grab the sheet by two adjacent corners (inside out) with your hands in the pockets.
  2. Tuck the Corners – Fold one corner over the other so they nest together.
  3. Repeat – Bring the next two corners together and tuck them in as well.
  4. Make a Rectangle – Lay the sheet on a flat surface and straighten the edges.
  5. Fold Neatly – Fold into thirds lengthwise, then fold again to your desired size.

Do we need a flat sheet as well as a fitted sheet? 

 

It's a hot debate among sleepers! In Australia, bed sheets are usually sold as sets, which include both a fitted sheet and a flat sheet.

A fitted sheet has an elastic edge and a skirt of material that fits snugly over your mattress. This is the sheet you lie directly on. Good fitted sheets protect your mattress and provide a smooth surface for sleeping. 

A flat sheet, or top sheet, is a large rectangle of fabric placed over the fitted sheet. It has seams along the edges and is usually made from the same material as the fitted sheet. Flat sheets can be left loose or tucked in and are popular in hotels for that luxurious feel. 

 

How often should you wash your bed sheets?

You should wash your bed sheets once a week to keep them fresh and hygienic. If you sweat a lot, have allergies, or let pets on the bed, consider washing them every 3–4 days. In colder months or if you don’t use your bed daily, you can stretch it to every two weeks, but weekly is ideal for cleanliness and skin health.
